Casualty & General Insurance Company (Europe) Ltd is a Gibraltar domiciled Insurance company specialising in U.K. Employers’, Public and Products Liability. The company is authorised and regulated by the Financial Services Commission in Gibraltar.

Our aim is to provide a quick and efficient service to our nominated intermediaries via our state of the art online insurance processing system. This includes quotations, policy production, accounting functions and reporting.

Our nominated claims handlers, Capita London Market Services Ltd, have substantial resources and unequalled experience in dealing with claims for this class of business.

Tony McCallum ACII

After serving in the army for 10 years, Tony moved into the insurance broking world with Bain Dawes Ltd. Following this role he spent the next 17 years at The Bowring Group where he reached the position of Chairman of the North American treaty reinsurance division and CEO of Carpenter Bowring Ltd. The Deputy Chairman position at Jardine Lloyd Thompson followed this and since 1999 Tony has been involved with managing various insurance related companies. His current position is as chairman of Fintra Europe Ltd which he formed in 2002 and which specialises in the formation of Captives and their reinsurance.

George Lloyd-Roberts BA MSc

George also spent his early working life as a non-marine broker for Leslie and Godwin. In 1973 he moved to Harman Hedley Agencies Ltd where he trained as a non-marine underwriter. After being elected an Underwriting Member of Lloyd’s in 1975 he formed Lloyd-Roberts & Gilkes Ltd in 1976 and became the Active Underwriter for Lloyd’s Syndicate 55. George currently acts as a Director on a number of Lloyd’s Managing Agencies and other insurance related companies.

George has also been a member of a number of committees and associations as follows:

Danny Gibson ACII

After spending his first 3 years as a syndicate accountant working for a Lloyd’s Managing Agency Danny moved to an underwriting position at Lloyd-Roberts Syndicate 55. He specialised in writing UK liability business both in Lloyd’s and the Syndicate’s service company, Facility 55. Danny was put in charge of this account at the end of 1993. In 1996 he moved to Octavian to be general liability underwriter for RE Brown Syndicate, 702 but following a number of changes to the ownership of the managing agency, Danny decided to change direction and went to work for an underwriting agency in North London in July 2000. Here he wrote a mixed portfolio of UK general liability business on behalf of a number of Lloyd’s Syndicates. After a brief spell at another Underwriting Agency Danny has been concentrating on setting up and running Casualty & General. Danny was a member of the Lloyd’s Non Marine Association EL Committee during his underwriting period at Lloyd’s.


Harry Roumph BA (hons) ACII

Between 1997 and 2004 Harry was the Underwriting Manager for MMA Insurance responsible for both personal and commercial lines business and a member of the Company's executive committee. He was previously Eagle Star's Assistant UK Commercial Property Manager. He also spent 18 years at the Prudential in a number of managerial positions on the Overseas Division. He is now Client Liaison Director for Fidecs Insurance Management in Gibraltar.


Edgar Lavarello

Edgar graduated from Loughborough University with a joint honours degree in Economics and Accountancy in 1985. He qualified in the City of London as a Chartered Accountant where he spent some five years specialising in the insurance sector. He joined PricewaterhouseCoopers, Gibraltar in 1990 and is currently a partner specialising in a variety of businesses, including financial services and insurance companies, as well as in a number of disciplines including audit, tax and insolvency. He is a fellow of the Institute of Chartered Accountants in England and Wales.

He is currently Vice President of the Gibraltar Society of Chartered and Certified Accountancy Bodies and is a representative of the local accountancy profession’s taxation committee. He has served on a number of Gibraltar Government Authorities including as financial advisor to the Gibraltar Health Authority for the construction of the new hospital and has recently been appointed to the Gibraltar Port Authority.

Between 1995 and 1999 Edgar served as the treasurer of the Gibraltar Society of Chartered and Certified Accountancy Bodies. Edgar is also a keen sailor and since 1990 has served as treasurer of the Royal Gibraltar Yacht Club which was founded in 1829 and is the oldest Yacht Club outside the United Kingdom.
