Tony started his insurance career in the Lloyd’s market with Bain Dawes Limited. In 1979 he moved to the Bowring Group where he spent 17 years, chiefly broking North American reinsurance.
More recently he has served on the boards of Guy Carpenter and Company Limited and the Bowring Group, was chairman and chief executive of Guy Carpenter (UK) Limited, and served on Guy Carpenter’s worldwide management committee. He was on the reinsurance sub-committee of the Lloyd’s Insurance Brokers Committee and was deputy chairman of Jardine Lloyd Thompson Reinsurance Limited. Since 1999 he has been involved in a number of insurance-related ventures, including helping Danny Gibson to establish CGICE in 2003.
